It’s May which means time to think about the moms in our lives! My 2018 Mother’s Day Gift Guide is a simple thoughtful list of things to bring her happiness, calm and love.
May crept up on me! The sun is shining, days are longer and we seem to be living at the playground.
This is a month to truly enjoy the earth blooming after the long winter of course to celebrate the sweet mothers in our lives.
I am lucky to have my incredible mom and mom-in-law to celebrate, as well as some amazing mom friends. All these women are fabulous and inspiring in their own right.
And although I’m not a huge proponent of buying unnecessary stuff, a simple token of love is a lovely gesture for the women we love on mother’s day.
Whether you are fortunate enough to be able to share this day with your own mom or others you know, I hope it’s a day filled with lots of love and warmth. The world is a beautiful place and thanks to our mom’s we are here to enjoy it.
1. Photos of grandchildren and/or crafts
This is a gift made with love that doesn’t require a lot of money. One that shows grandma how special she is to both you and your kids. Especially these days when all photos seem to live on our phones, it’s such a nice change to have a physical framed photo or a heart-felt craft. And whether grandma displays these tokens around her home or not, I can assure you she loves them and appreciates these keepsakes.
2. [amazon text=Red Dutch Oven&asin=B01839OPSM]
For those Sunday roasts or a simple lovely family meal, there is nothing better than a dutch oven. For those mom’s who love to cook, this is an incredible gift.
3. Breakfast Delivery
Get up early, pick up pastries and coffee and serve her breakfast in bed on a [amazon text=simple tray&asin=B07B61KSM9]. Or show up at her door step with breakfast, and coffee. Trust me on this, any mom would be very excited to start her day off this way.
4. Pamper time
For those mom’s who love and need a little pampering, book a massage, day at the spa, sauna, mani-pedi or run her a spa-like bath (with candles, music, bath salts and wine). Then arrange a post lunch or dinner. Giving her time to relax is always appreciated.
5. Dinner with the Family
Sometimes the best way to show your mom that you care is to bring all her loved ones together to celebrate her. Host a dinner, make a reservation or plan a family outing/picnic for your mom. She will love not having to cook and spending time with loved ones.
6. Let her do that thing she has been wanting to do
Try a new workout class, dance class, go to a play, go to the symphony? What is that thing she has been talking about doing for a while now but just hasn’t been able to because life, kids, blah blah blah. Do your research, ask questions, and just make it happen! Book the tickets and go together or enlist a girlfriend to take that dance class with her!
7. [amazon text=Blissful Soy Candles&asin=B075QKXGQ5]
Sometimes the best calm comes from the soft scent of a candle and good book. Present mom with this soy candle which is 100% natural, non-toxic and relaxing.
8. Flowers
Traditional and timeless. Especially now that it’s spring time, show up with a bright bouquet and a [amazon text=minimalist sleek vase&asin=B01IZ6NF3O] for her table. Check out a local farmers market for some great spring finds. This simple gesture shows you were thinking of her.
