Hi friends,
As we all try to stay home and balance everything going on in our lives, I wanted to provide a little extra help in the kitchen department.
Living off your pantry and not having the luxury to run out to pick one quick thing up can be intimidating. Plus having wild hyper children tell you, they are hungry and having not a clue what to make for dinner is even worse.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about ways to just leverage my pantry and make the simplest most efficient recipes. And because we are all being absolutely bombarded with information right now, I am going to try to make these posts as simple as possible.
A simple breakfast and 2 entrees. Each breakfast will be simple, healthy and kid friendly.
Each entry will use pantry ingredients and hopefully help us all cook more easily at home and reduce some of the meal-time stress.
As always please feel free to reach out to me with any recipe/pantry/cooking questions 🙂 I am always helping friends and family and would love to help you! Reach out to me via Val@sweetpoppyseed.com.
Healthy Banana muffins
Got some bananas to use up! Make these super healthy 6 ingredient muffins! We add chocolate chips and swap the pumpkin spice (because I”m out) for 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
Red Beans and Rice
Did you buy a ton of beans and rice and now don’t know what to do with it all? This Bon Appetit recipe uses Canned Beans and is super simple and soul warming.
Use this recipe if using dried beans
Easy Fried Rice
I skip the onions, and sometimes add bell peppers or pineapple chunks! Also feel free to use all frozen veg if that’s all you have. This is best enjoyed in a bowl on the couch with your favorite TV show.
Stay healthy and stay well friends.
