If you live in the Twin Cities or are are visiting and looking for a fabulous happy hour, check out our Favorite Happy Hour Spots for Food (Twin Cities).
As a person who truly loves, no, adores food, I feel pretty lucky to live in the Twin Cities. The more I’ve been to other places, the luckier I feel to have such a variety of high quality restaurants.
From budget casual to upscale, we have it all! And the best part is that many of our best restaurants have reasonable options, especially during happy hour.
We love trying different happy hour specials around the cities mostly because we always eat early (ahem… kids), we love the casual small plate happy hour setting, and we can’t say no to a good food/drink deal.
Here are our favorites lately. From casual to a little fancier, these are all wonderful options to go with a friend or a group or your sweetie.
We are a little partial to the Lowbrow because it was our first date spot. But either way, the Lowbrow has such a great special: Every Tuesday night from 6 to 10 p.m., the Lowbrow offers two entree choices from the menu, two glasses of tap beer or house wine, and one dessert to share for $30 per couple. The burgers are incredible as are the desserts!
Recommended: BBQ Burger, Quinoa Burger and ALL of the DESSERTS!
Newly added to our list, this fun spot has fabulously spicy happy hour food. From shrimp to fried green tomatoes, it’s a great place for seafood, fried goodness and cocktails.
Recommended: Fried green tomatoes, peel-and-eat shrimp in awesome sauce, and the carrot and dill cocktail.
This has been a favorite since they opened in 2014. Beautifully crafted cocktails just $6-$7 and high end burgers, pizzas and wings for just $10! Want to try something different, pretty much everything on the menu is delicious and seasonal.
Recommended: All of their pizzas, the famous burger and an old fashioned.
Want some killer funky beers? Sours, fruit beers, strong beers, dog-friendly and all around friendly, we LOVE Wild Mind Ales Brewery. They usually have a food truck, or just pick up happy hour pizzas from Lyn65 (3 min away) and bring them to the brewery!
Recommended: Wednesday night Bargo (like bingo), Monday Happy Hour beer specials, and all sours! Dont forget to pick up a happy hour pizza at Lyn65.
It’s no surprise Hai Hai’s Chef Ngyuen was named top 5 chefs in America. Hai Hai has some freakin delicious food and fun inventive cocktails. The interior is bright and tropical, perfect for a patio day or a dark winter night. Happy hour T-F 3-530.
Recommended: Lychee sangria, crispy rice salad (my FAV) and Hanoi sticky rice.
Similar to Hai Hai, this happy hour spot gives you all the happy feel! Bright, happy and totally delicious arepas and killer appetizers. The happy hour includes slushies, punch sangria and beer. And of course yummy fried arepas and appetizers! Happy hour T-F 3-530.
Recommended: All the cocktails, slow roasted pork arepa and yuca fritas.
Feeling fancy? Head to Grand Cafe (another national award winning chef) for a classy french experience. Their Snack Attack is a wonderful way to sample several small dishes including oysters for two ($50). Plus $25 dollar bottles of wine!
Recommended: oysters, soft shell crab sandwiches, and the insane crab omelet!
