Homemade Greek Tzatziki Sauce is a refreshing yogurt and cucumber Greek staple that is delicious on a variety of meats, veggies, pita chips and gyros of course!
There was something about Greek cuisine that won me over a lot time ago. I don’t know if it’s the use of fresh vegetables, or delicious olives, or my obsession with feta cheese, but I have a major food crush on Greek food.
I can’t even imagine how many times I’ve ordered a Greek salad or a gyro in my life. Like 1000? Seriously if either thing is on a menu, there is a 95% chance I’ll be ordering one of those. One of the things I love the most about Greek food is that most of it is simple to make as long as you have fresh ingredients.
A few years ago as a newlywed, I got the hubs a grill for his birthday! This was a big deal for both of us since it was our first ever grill in our first ever house. We felt so mature and adult-like with our new grill 💁
That first summer, we grilled and grilled and grilled. We grilled dinner about 4 days a week ha! To say we were excited was an understatement. So to change up the normal grilled burgers, chicken and sausages, we decided to try something new and special. Greek food!
We grilled up lamb skewers with homemade tzatziki sauce. And to my delight, that exotic sauce that I would only get at restaurants was so incredibly EASY! It’s a sauce that can be whipped up in minutes and totally elevates anything and everything you pair it with.
Lamb skewers were grilled success! But the real winner was the homemade tzatziki sauce!
I’ve been making it ever since 💓
If you want to make tzatziki but don’t know what to pair it with, try any of the below and I promise you can’t go wrong.
