Although a week late, I am beyond excited to share the arrival of our sweet little Cora Lee. Already 1 week old, our precious donut is a complete angel. She eats well, sleeps incredibly well and loves her big sister. We are so in love and happy that she is healthy and everything went smoothly at the hospital.
Now we are at home, learning to adjust as a family of 4. Poppy loves her baby sister and is sweet to her, giving her constant kisses, pats on the head and unfortunately sharing her cold. But at the same time, big sister is learning to share our time and attention with another baby. All I can really say at this moment is…tantrums, tantrums, sleep regression, tantrums, tantrums.
Like all things though, we know this too shall pass.
The hubs and I are working together beautifully right now, which makes me love this man even more. We are sharing duties, staying sane and managing to squeeze in time for us which is pretty much a miracle. We are also staying active trying to do fun things as a family of 4. You know me, I am not the type to want to stay home all day 🤷♀️
Brunch, zoo, countless park trips, family walks, library, doctor appointments, Target runs, and groceries… to round out baby’s first week.
Blog-wise, I plan to keep the recipes coming so watch out 😃 I’ll be keeping them SIMPLE, as in few ingredients and short cooking times (life is too nuts right now to spend 1 hr cooking). And of course as the summer ends, I am pumped to share some of our favorite fall recipes!
I’m also excited to continue sharing what life is really like at this very moment through my post series: Real Life. As a mom with a newborn and a toddler, things are not perfect and life is messy. I don’t have all the answers nor am I an expert but like most parents, we learn by trying and sharing our stories.
Thank you as always for your continued support of Sweet Poppy Seed. This started off as a little personal project with the birth of Poppy and has blossomed into so much more. I truly love what I do and thank you for following along.
Right now in this moment, we are truly happy. Life is exactly the way it’s suppose to be. And with each day that passes, all we hope to do is soak up every precious moment with our 2 sweet girls 💕
