Wasn’t it just the 4th of July… like yesterday? Seriously where did the week go? How was your holiday weekend? Are you still recovering or just sad it’s over? Ours was the quintessential Minnesota long summer weekend. Right out of a postcard! Exactly what you’d think that city folk do on a hot holiday weekend. Yea sure you betcha! Up north, enjoying family time at the lake.
Let me just say, that I am one lucky lady. I married into a family that grew up enjoying summers at a beautiful lake. Fishing, camping, roasting s’mores, camp fires, canoeing, water-skiing… seriously it’s the stuff of summer camp movies. Except it’s even better because it is my family and I get to enjoy it with little Poppy. Here are some of my favorite scenes from last weekend….
Our current happenings are all over the place as usual! House projects. Lots of DIY art in the works. Still no master bathroom. Creating menus for upcoming get-togethers. Te-te-tennis lessons. Planning a little surprise date night shhhhh. Oh and planning some baby-free trips!
Funny I used to spend sooooo much time making itineraries and travel plans. Now with baby and 100 other things, if I get 5 minutes, I make the most of it! So far the plan is 2 trips this year, one big and one small, sans baby. And I am really excited for some alone time with the hubs. It has been too long. But at the same time, I am going to miss our little Peanut. Fingers crossed I can still have fun and not just miss her the whole time!
Cheers to another gorgeous summer weekend everyone!
