Happy Mother’s Day weekend everyone and a big thank you to all the wonderful mamas out there and in my life.
Earlier this week, I mentioned not having a lot of stuff. Yep I was wrong. I bet compared to the norm we don’t have a ton of stuff, but now that packing is really underway I feel differently, ha! Mostly furniture, kitchen stuff and beer/cocktail glasses. Seriously I think if we threw a cocktail party for the neighborhood we would not run out of glasses 😱 While packing I also learned that packing with a baby is not the most effective. I pack and she unpacks. I put things in a box, and she takes things out. We have been working on the same box all week 😉
On the baby front, someone understands the word “No” now. Yep when baby finds things she shouldn’t be playing with, I will say “No” and she will look at me, stops what she is doing and starts to whine and complain. Then she comes over to me, upset, and tries to bite me! Not good! She fools me every time too! She comes over and I’m thinking she is going to hug me or cuddle… instead she tries to bite my arm or face. 👸 I mean she is super cute and has 2 itty bitty teeth but still biting is not OK. So this is a new bad habit I will need to discourage.
As for this weekend, we have more furniture moving to do, packing and Mother’s Day. I love weekends. Duh, don’t we all!? But what I love the most are our Sunday mornings. I literally look forward to it all week. We wake up and bring Poppy into our bed for some morning baby cuddle time. I say cuddle but it’s more like we watch her be all cute and chatty in the morning, while she flaps her arms and tries to grab our faces. Then we make coffee and relax with baby in the living room. I live for these Sunday mornings, really nothing tops this.
Next week, I want to make rice pudding! Random I know but I love cold rice pudding when it’s warm out. Yea that’s right warm out! High in the 80s today! What?! Baby and I enjoyed a little time outside soaking up some vitamin D. You know, some fun in the sun. Toys and water for baby, coconut water and music for me. Warm days in Minneapolis are my fav!
Enjoy the gorgeous weekend everyone!
