Another week ✅ And that also means another week closer to vacation! Woot woot! We are headed to Florida in a few weeks and I am already dreaming of walks on the beach, playing with baby in the sand, warm runs and enjoying early morning coffee sitting outside.
But before that, here are the happenings as of late. Trip to visit parents down south ✅✅ Had so much fun hanging with my folks and sis, celebrating a big birthday, eating fabulous food and of course spoiling miss baby. Oh and a little update from last week- food for the party of 20 was a success!!! Every dish turned out delicious! Only flop was a not-so-good-looking upside down cake, but that was fixed with some strawberry slices to camouflage the top. So I’m calling it a victory.
Next up, lentils for baby and race training. Miss Poppy has had a wide range of veggies and a fair share of fruits so far. She has had everything from rutabaga to papaya to yogurt to sweet beautiful beets. But it’s now time for some heftier fruit, time for some lentils! I’m thinking soft pillowy red lentils with cooked apples and sweet potatoes. Yum yum! Keeping my fingers crossed that she likes them. Poppy = Baby foodie. Mama = Baby food nerd.
I had this sudden realization that other day that I am 7 weeks away or 50 days from my April 15K Goldy’s Run. Have I been training? Nope! It’s been cold and I’ve been a wuss. Instead I’ve been opting for fun indoor workouts. However no more excuses, time to get moving. Anyone else running this? Let me know and I’ll see you there!
As for our weekend, lots of quality time with my 2 flat mates. Donuts, house hunting, great g-mas caramel corn, movie night and date night are all on the docket.
And my last big focus right now is blogging. You guys, I have lots of great new recipes that I am dying to share with you in the coming weeks before vacation so stay tuned!

Favorite site of the week: Dessert For Two. Southern girl, private chef, cooking instructor and mommy of 1, Christina’s site is filled with great recipes for two! I love her way of scaling down recipes especially desserts, since you do not always need to make enough for 8-10 people! Also as a mommy, she has lots of great baby food recipes!
