Sometimes we need help eating our fruits, veggies and probiotics, that’s where my Berry Cauliflower Smoothie and Lifeway Kefir come in!
I’ve been a yogurt lover my whole life pretty much. Mostly because my mom is obsessed with it, so I grew always eating it. And the great thing about yogurt aside from being delicious, is how insanely healthy it is for you and your gut!
But did you know that Kefir actually has more gut healthy probiotics than yogurt and is just as delicious and versatile??? Oh yes my friends, if you have not tried Kefir, let me be the first to introduce you. Our personal family favorite is Lifeway Kefir.
So what is Lifeway Kefir anyway?
Lifeway Kefir is a tart and tangy cultured milk that is high in protein, calcium and vitamin D. Made with a blend of Kefir cultures, each cup of Kefir contains 12 live and active cultures! #LoveYourGuts
How about the benefits?
Milk Kefir has so many benefits, it’s hard to keep track. Here are just a few…
- Probiotics – to support immunity and a healthy digestive system.
- Immunity – to maintain a healthy gut.
- Healthy Weight – contains protein (8-11 grams), keeping you satisfied longer.
- Glowing Skin – contains Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), commonly found in skin care products.
- Lactose Digestion – 99 % lactose-free and suitable for most lactose-intolerant people.
- Bone Density – 30% of daily calcium needs.
How to best enjoy Lifeway Kefir?
This is my favorite part about Kefir! It’s so versatile! Not only can you drink the stuff, mix it with granola or make incredible smoothies but Lifeway also offer new fun Kefir products to spice things up.
As a Kefir drinking family (the hubs especially LOVES this stuff), we are big fans of Lifeway Kefir products and their endless flavor options. To our delight, Lifeway Kefir offers a huge variety of Kefir products aside from the standard drinkable stuff!
With all of these Lifeway Kefir options, there is no excuse for not getting enough probiotics!
At our house, everyone seems to have their favorite way to enjoy Lifeway Kefir products. The hubs loves the flavored drinkable milk Kefir and drinks it at least 3 days a week with his breakfast. I love adding natural milk Kefir to my green smoothies, or snacking on Kefir cups. And our tiny tot is totally into Kefir cups, ProBug pouches, and Kefir smoothies.
With the hot weather lately and in an effort to feed Poppy more veggies and probiotics, my Berry Cauliflower Smoothie has become a breakfast staple. My kid refuses to EAT cauliflower regardless of how I cook it… but… she will DRINK it! HURRAY!
This breakfast drink is easy, fast and super packed with fiber, protein and protiotics. Plus I love knowing my kid is getting veggies, fruit and calcium to start the day! Normally she will drink it with a side of toast or a healthy muffin, and this keeps her full for hours.
2 key things about this smoothie I want to mention:
- The frozen cauliflower makes the smoothie nice and thick, so add a tablespoon or so of water if you need to water it down. Also you can’t taste the cauliflower at all!
- The main liquid in the smoothie is natural unsweetened organic whole milk Lifeway Kefir!
I love making this smoothie with frozen berries and a touch of maple syrup since the Kefir is unsweetened. However if you choose to use flavored Kefir, you probably don’t need to add a sweetener.
As a mom, there is no better feeling than watching your kid enjoy something that is so good for them! Happy healthy toddler = Happy Mama.

Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup Lifeway Kefir, original, organic and unsweetened
- ½ cup strawberries, frozen
- ½ cup blueberries, frozen
- ½ cauliflower, frozen
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Add a tablespoon of water if you need extra liquid to blend successfully.
Serve immediately.
Notes: Chia seeds will add additional protein, magnesium and fiber to the smoothie, but are totally optional, especially for little ones. My toddler is used to chia seeds so I added them.
This smoothie is best enjoyed the day you make it. 12 ounces can be a lot for a toddler, it normally takes my Poppy a full day to drink it (I just keep popping it back in the fridge). Or of course you could share!
If using, a flavored Kefir milk product, reduce the maple sugar to your desired taste.
This is a sponsored post in partnership with Lifeway Kefir. However, all thoughts, opinions, and total love of Lifeway Kefir products are my own.
